Northern Staffing is looking to fill positions at Metal Technologies in Ravenna, MI.
2nd and 3rd shift. Starting at $11.27/hr.
Principle Duties and
Responsibilities:
o Works safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by wearing appropriate safety equipment (i.e., glasses, steel-toed shoes, ear plugs, etc.), following safe work practices and operating equipment in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies and procedures.
o Visually inspects castings/parts -- looking for defects such as: blow holes, sand holes, shrink, imperfect gates, crush, etc. -- noting variances in part from visual criteria sheet/customer specifications.
o Finishes parts by observing if the part meets cosmetic standards (surface appearance or determining any defects), removing remaining 'risers', grinding down 'gate' surfaces, and comparing to visual criteria sheet image and according to work instructions.
o Operates various grinders to remove excess metal from parts.
o Operates various automated cells to process castings.
o Operates a fork truck.
o Communicates (verbally) with peers, facilitators, and supervision to inform them of conveyor-system glitches, casting inconsistencies, quality concerns, maintenance requests, supply problems, etc.
o Work in other areas/departments when needed (i.e. shakeout, core set, melt, etc.).
o Troubleshoots work-related problems by trying to determine the source of the problem.
o Uses precision-measurement devices to ensure compliance with customer/project specifications as defined in the visual work instructions.
o Defines/categorizes defects determining if the part is to be scrapped.
o Performs minor maintenance on the grinders (replacing wheels & bits)
o Keeps work area clean by performing general housekeeping duties.
Education and Experience Requirements:
o Successful completion of the RDI Team Member Selection System.
o Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
Physical Demands:
o Lifting: Consistently (67-100%) lifts 1-20 pounds. Occasionally (0-33%) lifts 11- 75 pounds.
o Push/Pull: Occasionally (0-33%) push/pulls 1-100 pounds.
o Environment: Must be able to work in a noisy, dusty environment. Must be comfortable working around moving machinery.
o Other: Job consistently (67-100%) requires grasping, reaching, handling and fine manipulation. Job frequently (34-66%) requires bending. Job occasionally (0-33%) requires climbing and stooping.
Competencies:
o Teamwork: Ability to recognize the behaviors or actions that best supports the team and contributes to work performance when faced with work situations involving several problems or issues to be handled.
o Observation: Ability to pay attention to and remember a work procedure with some details that are hard to notice.
o Locating Information: Ability to read straightforward workplace graphics, such as basic order forms, diagrams, line graphs, tables, flowcharts, instrument gauges, and maps. Ability to find several pieces of information in these types of graphics, summarizes and/or compares information in one or more graphics, and understands how graphics are related to each other.
o Reading for Information: Ability to read basic company policies, procedures and announcements.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Be able to stand 8-12 hours
lift up to 100 lbs.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
